This course is a New York State Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) course. Successfully completing this course and passing the certifying exams and evaluations will culminate in an EMT-Basic certification students.
The course has 3 components - lecture, labs, and clinicals.
Lectures are taught synchronously over Zoom. Lectures require active participation and students will require access to a computer with a webcam, a microphone, a stable internet connection, and a space where they can participate by video and voice.
Labs are taught in-person on the student's selected campus.
Clinical internships will require the student to intern as an EMT in patient care settings. Clinical clearance requires the separate purchase of a CastleBranch compliance tracker. Students are required to complete 2 clinical shifts which are scheduled outside of regular class hours and may require off-campus travel.
